EuroSEAS PhD Masterclass 2025 in The Philippines

We are happy to announce that the preparations for the second edition of the EuroSEAS PhD Masterclass in Southeast Asia are under way. The dates have been set for 15-17 July 2025. The University of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City, The Philippines, will host this event and EuroSEAS board member Eloi Hernandez and her organizing team will be the local organizers.

Please think about possible PhD candidates that could apply for the nine spots available. The selection committee will favor candidates from institutions with a more challenging financial and political environment and with smaller supervisory capacity in our fields of interest.

Also, we invite you to express your interest to be involved in the selection committee and/or the group of seniors that will serve as discussants during the Masterclass. The organizing committee prefers a strong representation of seniors from the region, whether board members or other EuroSEAS members. Seniors from Europe are welcome too, but it is preferred if they can provide their own funding for the intercontinental flight.

Call for proposals
The call for proposals is expected to be released around 15 March 2025.
